Case study /Online celebrations
GenderReveal.live: online celebrations for people who can’t be there.
GenderReveal.live creates personal online gender reveal pages with playful reveals, guest predictions and wishes from family and friends. We designed, built and run it, along with a set of free tools and guides for expecting parents.

The problem
Family and friends can’t always be in the same room for a reveal, and a video call doesn’t feel like much of an event. Parents also research this kind of thing well before they’re ready to buy, so the site has to be useful earlier on.
What we built
- Personal reveal pages with interactive reveals
- Guest predictions and wishes
- Checkout and paid packages
- Free tools, including a baby name generator and baby size visualiser
- Planning guides, idea pages and a blog
- AI features for name suggestions
Decisions that shaped it
- Free tools alongside the paid product
- A name generator or feed tracker is useful in its own right, and it brings in people who may later want a reveal page.
- Guests take part, not just watch
- Predictions and wishes turn a page into something people share and come back to.
What this means for your website
Be useful before people are ready to buy
Free tools and guides bring in visitors who aren’t ready to buy yet. For a local business, that could be a quote calculator, a pricing guide or a checklist: something your customers already search for, which also puts your name in front of them early.
